18-year-old Darrell “IShowSpeed” Watkins once again managed to draw attention to himself with an unusual situation. He addressed superstar Drake, 36, via Instagram, even managing to get the rapper on the phone for a Facetime call – but when Drake then complimented him, the situation for the 18-year-old YouTube star came to an end the rudder.

That was his latest prank: IShowSpeed has become such a phenomenon as a young black whiz that it’s even landed on the radar of superstars like Drake.
Speed and Drake were chatting briefly over Instagram when IShowSpeed decided to call the rapper live during a YouTube stream. In fact, Drake picked up the phone.
Facetimed Drake, Speed was clearly ecstatic, jumping up and down in the chair excitedly. Drake was walking somewhere, barely audible most of the time and not really in the picture.
But for Speed, a dream seemed to come true: Drake even paid him a compliment. He is proud of IShowspeed. He just does “his thing.”
He freaks out and starts barking. He then asks Drake’s opinion on whether he prefers Ronaldo or Messi. The 18-year-old goes mad with joy when Drake chooses Ronaldo – because the Portuguese football star is also his big idol.

How does the call then tilt? Drake compliments the young YouTuber: he has a lot of love for IshowSpeed, just recently spoke to Banks about him in the car. He is so proud of IShowSpeed.
He grins from ear to ear and tells the rapper what an incredibly sexy voice he has. How could it be so smooth?
Just then, Drake hangs up and IShowSpeed throws one of his fits. From jubilant to the sky, his mood falls to “dead to death”. He rages, jumps up, keeps hitting his chair.
He is annoyed: That was probably wrong, he didn’t mean “sexy” at all, but rather “smooth”. How could he sell it so badly: Now Drake will certainly never pick up the phone again.
How are the reactions to it? Most of the fans in the comments on the video first emphasize how great it is for Speed to even reach Drake, what calls he gets and what opportunities he has. Drake telling him how proud he was of him was a great feel-good moment and shows what a fabulous and humble person Drake is.
But that IShowSpeed manages to screw up its “only call” with Drake is then noted with amusement.
