18 year old woman killed in Dover crash

Chatham-Kent police continue to investigate after a single-vehicle crash claimed the life of an 18-year-old woman in Dover on Saturday morning.

At approximately 8 am, police responded to the collision on Pain Court Line near Bear Line Road.

Preliminary investigation revealed the Dover Township woman was traveling eastbound on Pain Court Line when she struck a tree on the north side of the roadway, police said.

She was taken to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with serious injuries, then later transported to Windsor Regional Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The name of the woman isn’t being released at this time out of respect for the family, police added.

Man charged with stealing kayaks

Early Sunday, a man was located on Murray Street in Wallaceburg in possession of two kayaks.

The property was believed to be stolen, police said. The man was also reportedly on a short condition to be within his residence between the hours of 10 pm and 6 am

The Wallaceburg man was charged with theft, possession and a bail violation. He was held for bail.

Break and enter in Blenheim

Sometime before or around May 11, someone attended the Store and Save in Blenheim, entered a secured storage unit and removed approximately $3,000 worth of property, police said.

Items taken included a table saw and drill press.
