The man is also suspected of two counts of serious weapons offences.
The victim was found shot outside in Trelleborg on Friday evening and on Monday it was announced that the man, who was aged 25, had died of his injuries.
The 18-year-old man was arrested along with three other men after the shooting, but the other three were released at large over the weekend.
All persons who have been detained are known to the police and belong to the gang criminal environment.
The custody hearing will be held this afternoon in Ystad District Court.
