18-year-old sentenced for serious weapons offense after shooting in Årby

It was around 5 pm on Saturday 17 September that the alarm came and a shooting in Årby in Eskilstuna. Shortly afterwards, it was also shot in the Nyfors district.

Witnesses saw them leave

In Årby, several shots were fired at a gate in an apartment building. Witnesses saw two masked people leave the scene, one of them on an electric scooter, the other on a women’s bike.

It is the man on the bicycle, who was 17 at the time of the crime, who is now being sentenced for serious weapons offences. He was arrested in connection with the incident and, among other things, igniter particles were found on his hand and clothes.

Sentenced to juvenile supervision

The District Court considers that it has been proven that the 18-year-old was one of those who together and in agreement with others had a pistol caliber 9 in Årby in connection with the shooting on 17 September. The punishment is one year of youth supervision.
