Murder convict Frunze Saghatelyan, 17, may have been exonerated for committing new crimes, according to information to Aftonbladet.
Now the police are monitoring addresses with connections to a criminal network, according to the data.
Expressen writes that the 17-year-old is considered “guilty” of murder.
17-year-old Frunze Saghatelyan was recently sentenced to closed youth care for the murder of Fredrik Andersson at the Delta gym in Stockholm.
While waiting for the verdict to gain legal force, he has been taken into care according to the LVU and placed in a Sis home. The 17-year-old was assessed as absconding and was placed in a ward with the highest security class.
In connection with a dentist’s visit in Södertälje last Thursday, he was released.
When he was escorted out of the reception by the Transporters of the Correctional Service, two dark-clad, masked people ran out of a black car.
Shot the wrong person at Delta gym
They pointed a black gun-like object and held up something resembling a baton at the correctional officers and shouted “Let him go, let him go!”.
They released the 17-year-old who ran towards the two masked people and disappeared in the getaway car.
According to information to Aftonbladet, the police believe that Saghatelyan has been cleared of committing another serious violent crime.
One of the police’s theories is according to Expressen that the 17-year-old is still considered “guilty” of a murder to those who ordered the murder at the Delta gym.
This is because security guard Fredrik Andersson was not the target. It was instead a member of the motorcycle gang Bandidos who was inside training at the gym.
Now Frunze Saghatelyan is believed to be kept in hiding, waiting to carry out the mission.
According to information to Aftonbladet, the police have put surveillance on addresses with connections to a criminal network.
Secured DNA from masks
The police have issued an international wanted manhunt for him. Police sources says to DN that he is believed to still be in the Stockholm area.
– We have very high hopes that the people concerned will remain in the region. We assess that the conditions for searching and finding them are good, says a police officer to the newspaper.
According to information to DN, DNA has been secured from those who exonerated the 17-year-old. It is said to have been found on masks that were thrown out of the car in the escape.
The Probation Service and Sis will investigate how the release could have been planned and do not want to answer questions about it until they are done.
Before his visit to the dentist, the 17-year-old had complained of severe toothache due to a cavity. According to information to Aftonbladet, the 17-year-old had been informed about the visit in advance and now there is speculation as to whether he planned the release from within Sis.
The suspicion: Planned release from the inside
Employees at Sis testify that inmates have access to mobile phones and tablets and that staff are not allowed to check what they are doing or what contacts they have.
– We suspect that this has been a contributing factor to the dismissal, but we will see what the internal investigation shows, says Frida Strandberg Landin, who chairs Seko within Sis to the Seko newspaper.
Saghatelyan was placed in a ward with security class 3, the highest security class. It is not known if he had access to a mobile phone or tablet.
It is possible to limit inmates’ electronic communication, but keeping someone completely away from it is difficult, according to Sis.
– We do not have the right to limit it in general, but it is an individual decision. So one may have limitations but the others in the same department do not. Then it is very difficult to keep a young person from it anyway. You can’t have that many staff, Stefan Hell Fröding, press secretary at Sis, previously told Aftonbladet.
