200 giant footprints – created over 166 million years ago.
The new dinosaur tracks were recently made in a limestone quarry in the county of Oxfordshire in Great Britain.
– This is one of the most impressive track sites I have ever seen, says Kirsty Edgar, micropaleontologist at the University of Birmingham.
The discovery reveals how two different types of dinosaurs – the long-necked Cetiosaurus and the smaller, carnivorous Megalosaurus – lived and operated many millions of years ago.
The finds are the largest tracks made of the prehistoric animals in Britain.
The discovery baffles scientists.
– In this way, you can travel back in time and get an idea of what it was like back then when these enormous creatures were hanging around and taking care of themselves, says Kirsty Edgar.
