In August last year, a then 16-year-old boy was badly beaten in Värmdö outside Stockholm by a 15-year-old boy. He was treated in hospital, but died a month later as a result of his injuries.

Now the boy, who has reached the age of 16, is sentenced to ten months of youth supervision for grossly causing the death of another, Nacka District Court announces.

“I have a clear picture of what has happened and evidence in the form of, among other things, witness statements and answers from technical investigations,” said chamber prosecutor Hanna Loftås in a press release in connection with her bringing charges.

The incident occurred on the night between August 8 and 9 last year in Gustavsberg in Värmdö. The origin is said to have been a fight at a party.

The convict has admitted assault but denied intent to kill. A 14-year-old boy is suspected of participation in the fatal beating, but was not charged as he is not of legal age.
