The police were alerted on the night of Sunday to Örkelljunga after a fight between young people in an underpass.
When the patrols arrived at the scene, a 16-year-old boy was found badly stabbed. He was rushed to hospital, but his life could not be saved.
After witness identification, two young people were arrested. One was released on bail while custody proceedings were held against the other, a 16-year-old boy, today.
The district court decided to detain the suspect on probable cause, which describes that it is a case of a stronger suspicion, of murder.
The victim was on his way home with several other peers after a party when the fight broke out and the boy was stabbed to death. The police have previously said that it is not gang-related but “something internal to the town”, but that they are now investigating the motive further.
