Two weeks ago, the debater and criminologist Nina Rung started a digital appeal on the site change.org, as a reaction to the verdict. The call is addressed to Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M) with demands for, among other things, mandatory training on sexual crimes for the entire judiciary.
Nina Rung also wants an investigation into whether special childhood seats should be introduced.
– We have special courts for crimes at sea, but we do not have courts competent enough to face children based on what the children can tell. We cannot make the same demands on a five- or fourteen-year-old in court as we do on an adult, she says.
