A man shot his wife in the middle of the street in Sancaktepe, Istanbul. It was learned that the woman was subjected to violence by her husband and escaped from her husband, who had a restraining order against her, and took shelter in Istanbul with her brother. The incident took place on Atatürk Caddesi in Sancaktepe Merve Mahallesi at around 14.30 on Wednesday. Allegedly, Nurettin Bilge fled the scene by shooting his wife, the mother of two children, Şehirban Bilge, who was walking on the street he followed. While the woman, who was injured in her legs, was taken to the hospital by ambulance, the police started work to catch the escaped suspect.

Sehriban Bilge, who came to Istanbul from Diyarbakir 7 months ago on the grounds that he was subjected to violence by his wife, and his wife, who was in the process of divorce, followed him. Despite the suspension decision, Şehirban Bilge, who was injured by an armed attack by Nurettin Bilge, told about his experiences in the hospital where he was treated. Saying that her husband had lived in prison for years since the first day of my marriage, Şehirban Bilge said, “He constantly showed violence, stabbed me in the back and locked me in the house until the evening in that state. He wouldn’t let me use the phone. He would lock the door in the morning and open it in the evening. In the last incident, he was strangling me, it was hard for him. “I ran away. I went to the police station. After the police station, I took refuge with my family. I have no security of life. He was attacking with a knife every day. I complained many times. I went before the prosecutor’s office many times. There was a decision of suspension,” he said.

The 27-year-old woman, who wanted her husband who injured her to be caught as soon as possible, said, “I hid my address, I hid my phone. I came to my brother in Istanbul. While I was waiting for the service, he suddenly appeared on the street. He took out his gun and fired many times without speaking. I really want to meet my children. What “Hear my voice. I’m very afraid, I don’t want to die. It won’t be limited to this, I know he will come to kill again. He has ruined my life from the age of 15 until now. I want him to be caught and punished as he deserves.”
“WE CHANGE YOUR JOB, DECIDE TO REMOVE”
Shahriban Bilge’s lawyer, Bilge Türköz, said, “Due to her husband’s violence, she fled from Diyarbakır and was taken under protection. Her address and identity were concealed. But after a while, her address was found by her husband. Then we changed her job and decided to suspend them. She also violated the suspension order. Nurettin Bilge found my client and, so to speak, shot him. This should never have been an intentional injury to my client because he was alive, it was an attempt to murder. Shahriban might not be alive today. For this reason, the state’s protection of Şehirban and dozens of women like Şehirban and this as an attempted murder. “The accused must be punished,” he said.
