He needs few questions or encouragement: Ramcharan tells of his own accord, gladly and a lot. The Asha foundation has had a permanent place in the De Oase community center on the Cartesiusweg in Zuilen for forty years. Framed newspaper articles and volunteer prizes adorn the walls in the head office, as does a large CDA election poster. “I am a member of the CDA, indeed a Christian party,” says Ramcharan. Boxes do not exist for him. “You may start in a box, but then you break it open.”
