Since 2016, the politicians in Luleå have discussed whether a bathhouse is going on Hertsön in Luleå. During the summer of 2022, the construction began.
Now it is finished and on Saturday a bunch of enthusiastic bathers got the chance to dive into the pool.
– It feels fantastic. Incredibly fun to stand here and see all happy children, says Luleå’s municipal council Fredrik Hansson (S).
220 million is not exceeded
During the years that the construction has taken place, inflation has increased significantly, which has caused the municipality to provide money to get the bathhouse clear. But the 220 million, which were finally decided, are not exceeded, says Ulrika Lundgren chairman of the Infrastructure and Service Committee.
– We have been able to buy materials in time and manufactured some stuff ourselves to keep costs down as much as possible, she says.
