150 donated blood after the appeal – no longer an acute shortage

After the appeal for blood donors, roughly 100 people came into the blood center yesterday, and during the morning another 50 came in.

– On a normal Friday, we may only have 10 donors, but today we had over 50, says Magnus Nordström and continues:

– It can be said that the situation has improved incredibly. The acute deficiency has been corrected.

In the coming weeks, the Blood Center will need the stock to continue to be replenished, but the need for donors is once again at a normal level. The stock of blood group A has stabilized, and the stock of blood in the D-negative groups as well as in the 0-positive is still low, but there is no longer an acute shortage of any blood group.

– They have had an extremely good response. We want to say a big thank you to the donors, says Magnus Nordström.
