The Stockholm District Court today detained a 15-year-old boy on probable cause on suspicion of murdering a person of the same age.

The suspect admitted that he stabbed but stated that it was done in self-defense.

– There has been violence and my client has admitted that he inflicted some violence with a knife, but his attitude is that it happened in self-defense. He has been attacked by the plaintiff and subjected to violence, violence which he has perceived as life-threatening. He has invoked emergency protection or emergency protection access, says lawyer Pia Tengvall, who represents the detainee.

Prosecutor: Pulls out a knife

The incident broke out in Lumaparken late on Friday evening.

– It is a question of very young people who get into a fight with each other and one pulls out a knife, says Chamber prosecutor Rolla Akkache in a press release.

The 15-year-old victim, who had been stabbed several times, was found by private individuals and was badly injured. An ambulance was quickly on the scene and took the teenage boy to hospital, but his life could not be saved.

The police launched a major operation and were able to arrest the boy, who is now in custody, the following morning, at 07:00 on Saturday.
