The traffic accident is said to have occurred on a highway between the cities of Nizip and Gaziantep in southeastern Turkey. According to Governor Davut Gül, three of the dead are firefighters. Two paramedics and two journalists are said to have also died.
The Turkish news agency Ihlas reports that reporters Muhammed Abdulkadir Esen and Umut Yakup Tanrıöver died in the accident.
According to the DHA news agency, a fire engine, an ambulance and a bus were involved in the accident. CNN Türk reports that the bus must have run into the ambulance and the fire truck, which were parked on the highway in connection with another accident where a vehicle ran into a truck.
