It is a tough job market in Sweden right now. At the end of 2024, there were 377,000 people without a job – a record since January 2022, according to the Employment Agency.
– Our assessment is that unemployment will stop increasing this spring and then begin to decrease gradually during the autumn, said Eva Samakovlisdirector of analysis at the authority, to SVT in last week.

AI-related professions will grow
At the same time, a lot will happen on the labor market in general in the coming years.
The World Economic Forum has asked more than 1,000 employers – which in total have more than 14 million employees – around the world about which occupations they believe will have the lowest and highest net growth until the year 2030.

The survey shows that jobs related to artificial intelligence (AI) and digitization top the list of occupations where net growth is expected to increase, slightly GP also reported on. Among the employers surveyed, 86 percent explicitly state that their own operations will change as a result of, for example, AI.
The report shows that it is believed that eleven million new jobs may be created as a result of AI, while just over nine million jobs are said to be replaced by the technology.
