Iran has set up a special unit in Tehran for the assassination of Haniyeh. A special unit established within the Ministry of Interior and the army has begun questioning all the moments Haniyeh spent from his first arrival in Iran until the moment of the assassination, and the people and institutions he came into contact with, especially the Ansar al-Mahdi Commander Fethullah Jamiri, who was responsible for the protection of the Hamas leader. It is recorded that the number of detentions has exceeded 30 so far.
According to information in Türkiye Newspaper, Iranian sources stated that the codes for the assassination were hidden in the 140-minute period from 23:40 when Haniyeh entered her room to 02:00, the moment of the explosion.
SPY CLAIMS GET STRENGTHENED
Former Iranian intelligence officer Ali Rezai said that there was a serious confusion of duties and authorities and internal conflict between the units responsible for protection and intelligence, and that this weakness had reached its peak in the latest incident. Noting that there was serious infiltration into the Iranian intelligence institutions that were divided within themselves, Rezai said, “The state is currently looking for an answer to the question of ‘Who is cooperating with which external services and to what positions and authorities does the treason extend?’ specifically regarding the Haniye assassination. The latest assassination could definitely not have been carried out without spot intelligence support.”
Ansar al-Mahdi, who is responsible for the protection of Ismail Haniyeh, is also responsible for the protection of the Iranian President.
PHONES ARE BEING EXAMINED ONE BY ONE
Hamas sources, on the other hand, shared that there was an information flow problem from the very beginning and that Iranian authorities avoided making clear definitions. While uncertainties regarding the weapon and method of attack in the incident in which Haniye lost her life continue, Iranian sources shared the information that “all the conversations between Haniye, who entered the Veterans Guesthouse at 23:40 at night and 02:00 when she was shot, who knew that she was there, and who the responsible parties contacted via telephone or similar means at that time are being investigated.”
CLAIM OF 10 PEOPLE WALKERS
It is also reported that the Revolutionary Guard Corps activated its air defense systems and launched several missiles after the explosion in the building where Haniye was staying. Another striking development regarding the incident was that a search and sweep operation was launched from the very beginning in the hills surrounding the Gaziler Mansion, and more than 10 people who claimed to have been walking in the Tuchal Hill area in particular were detained and questioned.
MOSSAD’S ASSASSINATION CLAIM
On the other hand, Hamas sources noted that they sent an investigation team to Tehran regarding the incident and stated that Mossad revised the assassination list. Accordingly, the dominant view is that Mossad will focus on Yahya Sinwar and Khaled Meshal and reshape Gaza, Jerusalem and the West Bank according to Netanyahu’s own agenda. It is noted that within the scope of the joint Israeli-Western-Gulf strategy, the Mohammed Dahlan option will be imposed and at this point, Bergusi may also be released, and the liquidation of Hamas and radical change and recruitment activities will accelerate.
MOSSAD’S SUCCESS OR IRAN’S BETRAYAL?
According to Iran experts, the downing of President Reisi’s helicopter and the Ukrainian plane, the assassinations and attacks carried out against Mohsen Fakhrizadeh and Qassem Soleimani are related to Iran’s internal betrayals rather than Mossad’s success.
