It was at the end of July 2023 that two 14-year-old boys were reported missing.
Late in the evening on the last of July, one of them was found murdered in a wooded area in Nynäshamn municipality south of Stockholm by a passerby.
In mid-August 2023, the second boy, 14-year-old Layth, was found in an outdoor area in Upplands-Bro north of Stockholm. Layth was placed in a family home and the other boy in a HVB home, both in Nyköping.

Now the prosecutor in the case wants to get hold of footage that is allegedly connected to the murders.
– In the investigation, information has emerged that indicates that there is film material from both murders and that films have been sent between different accounts in social media. We are very interested in taking part in the films. It is possible to submit material anonymously to the police, says senior prosecutor Hanna Cardell, who is the head of the preliminary investigation.
