14 new police officers for Dalarna – “Contributes to strengthening local presence”

They are newly graduated police assistants who have recently received their shoulder flaps and training certificates in a solemn manner, and who are now allowed to start work.

– They are an important addition to the crime-fighting mission and contribute to strengthening the local presence, says national police chief Anders Thornberg, on the police’s website.

More aspirants to Dalarna

The title police assistant is awarded when a police officer in training has completed his service as a police aspirant. Police officer Isabel Ornby leads a special project with the goal of attracting more police aspirants to Dalarna.

– In the project, we work, among other things, to be there as support for police officers in training. We have noticed that it is something that works.

Ornby says that the number of aspirants applying to Dalarna has increased according to new figures from the Police Region Bergslagen. The hope is that more police officers in training will become aspirants in Dalarna and then stay in the county.
