They called on Monday for the unity of all Palestinian territories within a “Palestinian state”.

Summit participants “strongly condemned” the actions of the Israeli army, described as a “crime of genocide […] particularly in the northern Gaza Strip in recent weeks”, denouncing torture, executions, disappearances and “ethnic cleansing”, according to the final communiqué of the meeting.

The leaders called for supporting the State of Palestine, to achieve Palestinian national unity and enable it to effectively assume its responsibilities throughout the occupied Palestinian territories, including the Gaza Strip, in ‘unifying with the West Bank, including the city of al-Quds’, Arabic name for Jerusalem.
