The alarm came around 01:30 and several forces from the rescue service were on the scene.
– The fire started in two cars that were 20 meters apart, then it spread quickly, says Karl-Magnus Larsson, officer on duty at the rescue service.
Residents were evacuated
In total, two garages and 14 cars were destroyed in the fire, which risked spreading to an apartment building.
– We had to wake up the residents and evacuate them for safety, says Karl-Magnus Larsson to SVT Nyheter Skåne.
During the morning, the rescue service still had a guard force left at the scene. No one was injured in the fire.
