A huge operation was carried out against cheaters in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone. Treyarch announced that it has permanently banned 136 thousand fraudulent accounts.
Call of Dutycontinues its fight against cheaters without slowing down. Developer Treyarch announced in a statement that 136 thousand cheating accounts were banned in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone. The developer team stated that cheats seriously negatively affect the player experience and new security measures have been taken against this. It was emphasized that a strict fight against cheaters will be carried out throughout 2025.
New Security Systems Are Available in Call of Duty
Treyarch also introduced new security systems developed against cheaters. The updated detection models specifically target players who use aimbots and other cheating tools. Additionally, cheaters will be more easily identified through new data points such as account reliability and hardware IDs.
Ahead of Season 02’s launch, we’re here to discuss what the various dev teams and studios are doing right now to address what matters to our players today:
• Cheating and banning
• Ability to disable cross-play on consoles in Ranked
• Server issues
• Quality of life updates

The new system also takes precautions against inaccurate reporting. If a player reports another player multiple times, only one report is taken into account. In this way, cheat developers’ attempts to create spam reports with cheat software are prevented. As an interesting detail, other accounts that a banned cheater regularly plays with are also examined.
Treyarch also clarified that IP-based bans are not used. This method is not preferred because it may affect innocent players connecting from the same network. Instead, only cheating accounts are targeted using more focused and precise detection methods.
Call of Duty will further strengthen its anti-cheat systems with the upcoming Season 2 update. Treyarch will continue its fight against cheaters with new server and client-side detection systems, as well as driver updates and encryption improvements.
These steps aim to provide a more fair and enjoyable gaming experience for both Black Ops 6 and Warzone players. While Call of Duty’s fight against cheaters is welcomed by the community, players support these measures taken for a clean gaming environment. It was also announced that Season 2 will start on January 28 and new maps and content will arrive.
