The fire at the club started around 2:30 a.m. local time on Saturday night and 250 people were evacuated from the building.
The fire is suspected to have started after a club guest lit fireworks indoors. The police have identified and arrested the suspect, according to the Ministry of the Interior’s website.
– As a result of the fire, 13 people died; the number of dead and injured is being clarified, the Russian Investigative Committee said in a statement.
