6.02 pm: Lane A12 closed after car accident
A car accident happened this afternoon on the N420 near Woerden. The car got off the road and flew over the head. Several police cars and an ambulance came to the accident. The motorist was slightly injured. Later it turned out that the man was driving under the influence of alcohol, the Woerden police reported on Instagram. He also drove while his driver’s license had already been taken. The police have therefore arrested the man.
The right -hand lane of the parallel A12 was closed for a short time so that the emergency services can do their job well. Motorists who drove towards The Hague therefore had to take about ten minutes of delay into account.
13.49 hours: fire in Amersfoorts office building
This afternoon a fire broke out in an office complex on Barchman Wuytierslaan in Amersfoort. Around 12.30 the fire brigade received a report of a fire smell in the building. Upon arrival there appeared to be smoke development in the parking garage and on the first floor.
“After investigation, the cause turned out to be in a meter cupboard,” says the Utrecht Safety Region (VRU). There are no more people in the building, reports the VRU. Network manager Stedin is also on the spot.
11.13 am: accident on the A28 in Utrecht
A collision took place this morning on the A28 in Utrecht. That happened around 8.40 am. One or more people may have been injured. Nothing is yet known about the cause of the accident.
8.30 am: Car in Water in IJsselstein
In IJsselstein a car was launched on the Barononeweg on the night from Saturday to Sunday. That happened at 00.26 hours. The occupants were already out of the vehicle when the emergency services arrived according to a press photographer. Nobody was injured. A recovery company arrived on site to drag the vehicle away.
08.21 hours: chain collision on the A2
A chain collision took place on the A2 near Nieuwegein on Saturday evening. Three vehicles were involved, the police reported. No one was injured.
The police said that an official report is drawn up against one of the directors. That is because the driver kept too little distance and therefore caused a collision with large material damage.
8 a.m.: police action in Schothorst for confused person
A police action took place in the Schothorst district of Amersfoort. Around 8.15 pm several police units were on site in Klarisenstraat. A police spokesperson reports that a person with confused behavior has been transferred to the crisis service.
12.07 hours: Housing fire in Wijk bij Duurstede
A fire broke out on Saturday morning in a house on the Amstel in Wijk bij Duurstede. That happened around 10.40 am. According to a spokesperson for the fire brigade, the fire was created on the first floor. A precise cause is not clear. The resident was at home at the time of the fire, but was not injured. The fire was quickly extinguished.
08.03 hours: Scooter rider drives around again without a driver’s license
The Utrecht-Noord police arrested a scooter rider last night. For the fourth time in three years, the driver drove without a driver’s license. The police seized the scooter. The vehicle will probably be destroyed.
07.33 am: Police are looking for the owner’s owner
The police are looking for the owner of the cat who has been abused and left in a horrible way in Nieuwegein. After section it appears to be a young hangover with plumes at the ears, “like with a Siberian or Norwegian forest cat”.
