9.15 pm: Gas bottle explodes in Veenendaal shed
A gas bottle exploded in a shed on the Vijgendam in Veenendaal this evening. The impact damaged the facade of the outbuilding. The fire brigade quickly arrived on site and extinguished the fire. A photographer on site reports that the resident has been taken to hospital.
2.15 pm: More than 500 kilos of heavy fireworks in a warehouse, two suspects arrested
Last Saturday, the police arrested two men at an industrial estate in Houten on suspicion of trading in illegal fireworks. In the warehouse at the Lange Schaft, around 540 kilos of fireworks were found, including cobras. The police discovered it after a tip.
2 p.m.: Stabbing victim (17) Moreelsepark was stabbed in the neck
The boy who was stabbed last night in the Moreelsepark in Utrecht is a 17-year-old boy from Bilthoven. The police are still looking for a suspect.
12.30 pm: A28 partly open again after accident with truck
The main carriageway of the A28 near Amersfoort is open again, it was closed earlier today after an accident in which a truck overturned. The parallel lane, where the truck is now back on its wheels, still needs to be cleaned. The guardrail also needs to be repaired.
10 a.m.: Signal failure at Amersfoort-Vathorst
Due to repair work between Amersfoort-Vathorst and Nijkerk, stop buses are running instead of sprinters. A rail has broken, the repair should be completed before the evening rush hour.
8.30 am: Accident near Maarn, lane A12 closed
There is a jam on the A12 towards Veenendaal, and an accident involving several vehicles has occurred near Maarn. Rijkswaterstaat reports that the left lane is closed, motorists should expect a delay of 75 minutes.
7.45 am: Also delayed on A2 after accident
Motorists on the A2 towards Amsterdam must also take delays into account after an accident. There are no details yet of the accident, but connections have also been made on the N230 towards the A2.
7.30 am: Porch fire in Amersfoort
A fire broke out in a porch of an apartment on Garietstraat in Amersfoort this morning. According to the fire brigade, a lot of smoke was released, the fire has been extinguished and ventilation is now required on several floors.
7.15 am: Injured in Achterveld accident
Two cars collided with each other on the Achterveldseweg this morning. One of the drivers was taken to hospital, a photographer present reported. The road will be closed for some time to allow for clean-up.
7 a.m.: Many delays after A28 accident near Hoevelaken
An accident occurred on the A28 towards Amersfoort near Hoevelaken. A truck overturned and Rijkswaterstaat reports that both the main carriageway and the parallel carriageway are closed. A helicopter has now also landed to provide assistance.
Traffic towards Amersfoort is diverted from Rijnsweerd via the A27 and the A1.
