9.40 pm: Collision on A12 near Woerden, car continues after accident
Three cars collided on the A12 near Woerden this evening around 7.30 pm. The police wrote this on Instagram. The accident happened during highway works.
The driver of the lead car continued driving after the accident and was not found by the police. The drivers of the other cars remained standing and were not injured in the accident.
8.10 pm: Chain collision Hogeweg in Amersfoort
There was a pile-up involving three cars on the Hogeweg in Amersfoort around 7:30 p.m. The cars were severely damaged in the accident.
According to a press photographer, the occupants of the cars were checked by ambulance staff, but no one had to go to hospital. A recovery company towed the cars away.
3.05 pm: Power outage in Groenekan and De Bilt
Residents in the municipality of De Bilt may suffer from a power outage. The municipality reports this. More than five hundred households in Groenekan and Bilthoven have no electricity. Network operator Stedin says it is a “complex disruption”.
Stedin employees are currently working to resolve the power outage. Emergency generators are temporarily installed so that residents have power again. It is not known how long the outage will last.

2.30 pm: Stabbing in the city center of Utrecht
There was a stabbing in the center of Utrecht this afternoon. According to the police, there is currently one injured person. The incident happened in the Lauwersteeg between the Oudegracht and Steenweg. An air ambulance has landed at Vredenburg.
1 p.m.: Collision on N237 near Bosch en Duin
Two cars collided on the N237 near Bosch en Duin. The accident took place near the Duinweg.
Two ambulances arrived to treat the occupants. The road was temporarily closed until the cars were towed away.
11.20 am: Police have a view of the suspected Leerdam accident
The police have a view of a suspect who drove away after an accident. The driver hit a cyclist yesterday and then took off. The accident happened around 1:30 PM on Prinses Marijkestraat in Leerdam. The police cannot report more in connection with the investigation.
The driver got out of the car after the accident and fled. The police have distributed a description of the suspect via Burgernet.
5 a.m.: Motorist must surrender driver’s license after driving under the influence again
The Utrecht-Noord police stopped a driver last night who had to surrender his driver’s license after a breath test. It was the second time in five years that the man was arrested for this. The police reported this on Instagram.
The man blew a blood alcohol level of 1.7, which means that the driver’s license will in any case lead to a temporary driving ban.
2:20 am: Driver loses control on Schuilenburgerweg Amersfoort
A motorist lost control of his car last night. At the intersection of Schuilenburgerweg and Operaweg in Amersfoort, the vehicle hit a traffic sign and a parked car and came to a halt against a tree.
The police arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence.
