6:30 PM: Congestion on highways decreases
The traffic jams from earlier this afternoon on the Utrecht highways are gradually decreasing. The police have arrested a 35-year-old man from Zeist and a 30-year-old man from Austerlitz for drug trafficking. A police investigation team had previously found drugs in a garage in Soesterberg. That find is associated with the two men. Narcotics were also found in the homes of both suspects. The suspects are being held for questioning.
4 p.m.: Man robbed of scooter
Two men robbed a scooter driver of his scooter last night. That happened around 12:30 am on IJsselsteinlaan in Utrecht. They threatened with a knife and fled on a scooter. These are two men dressed in dark, they had a light complexion and are around 1.70 to 1.75 meters tall.
3.15 pm: ‘Orange peak’ started early, heavy traffic jams heading south
The Dutch national team doesn’t play until 9 p.m., but many seem to be on the safe side. It is already extremely busy, especially on the highways from Utrecht towards the south. The A2 is at a standstill for a distance of more than kilometres. It is also possible to connect in both directions on the A12 between Woerden and Utrecht, although this is also partly due to the work that will take the entire month. Amersfoort – Two men were arrested in Amersfoort yesterday afternoon because they behaved suspiciously at an ATM. They were spotted by two police officers who happened to be walking by to get a sandwich at the supermarket. One of the men had a large number of debit cards with him, the police reported.
1.45 pm: Car on fire on the A27 near Nieuwegein
A car is on fire on the A27 near Nieuwegein. The exit from Gorinchem is closed. According to Rijkswaterstaat, the fire brigade will arrive on site.

12.44 pm: Crane truck with a blown tire causes delays on the A28
A crane truck was stranded on the A28 towards Utrecht this afternoon with a blown tire. That happened just after the Hoevelaken junction. One lane is closed. That causes a delay of about 10 minutes. Rijkswaterstaat thinks it will take until about 3 p.m. to get the crane truck back on the road. Traffic towards Utrecht will be diverted from the Hoevelaken junction via the A1 and A27.

7.30 am: Half an hour delay on the A12 to Utrecht
The Netherlands is almost completely traffic jam-free, except for the A12 to Utrecht, Rijkswaterstaat writes on X. Between Harmelen and the Oudenrijn junction, all traffic has to use two lanes due to construction work. This means you will be delayed there by about half an hour.
5 a.m.: Speed devils caught in Utrecht
The police in Utrecht were busy last night taking away driving licenses. Three speeders were caught on Marnixlaan in Utrecht who did not adhere to the speed limit of 50 kilometers per hour. They drove 105, 114 and 116 kilometers per hour. One of the drivers also did not have a driver’s license with him.
00.00: Roof removed from Bentley after collision
A van and a Bentley collided late last night at a roundabout on Koperwieklaan in Bilthoven. The driver of the car became stuck and so the fire brigade had to be called to the scene. He sawed off the roof of the Bentley to free the victim. He was taken to hospital for evaluation, police said. The driver of the van only needed to be checked on the spot.
