According to SPF Seniors, it will be approximately SEK 28,800 per person.

“It is excellent that mistakes have been corrected for the 57-year-olds. But the policy has not yet solved the problem that employers and self-employed people in 2023 have paid too high an employer’s contribution for people born in 1957,” says the chairman of the pensioners’ organization Eva Eriksson.

The money is automatically deposited into the tax account and according to the Swedish Tax Agency, the payment takes place in the first week of July for most people.

The announcement from the authority comes after the government’s proposal has now been approved by the Riksdag.

“The decision also entails a postponement of the next increase in the age limit for the increased basic deduction so that people born in 1959 are not affected in the same way,” the authority writes in the press release.

Decisions on compensation will be sent out from the Tax Agency, digitally or by post.
