“What struck me was that the sheep had extreme wounds,” says veterinarian Helma Breunissen of Vallei & Wetering veterinarians in Renswoude. She was called in after the discovery and examined the sheep. “I sometimes see that a sheep has been bitten by a dog, but then you see a loose skin that needs to be stitched. Here you saw that the bite wounds were deeper and that the muscles were also bitten,” says the vet.
