101 years after the legendary horror film The Northman director

Director Robert Eggers has made a name for himself with visually stunning and cerebral films. He counts the ice-cold horror dramas The Witch and The Lighthouse among his work. Last year he brought the mystical historical epic The Northman to cinemas.

His next project fits perfectly into this series: Eggers is filming Remake of FW Murnau’s vampire horror Nosferatu and joins Werner Herzog, who remade the film with Klaus Kinski in 1979. Now you can see the first image of Nosferatu from the 1920s – albeit a century later.

This is what the new Nosferatu looks like with Bill Skarsgård and Lily-Rose Depp

In the picture we see Lily-Rose Depp (The Idol) as Nosferatu victim Ellen Hutter. On her face: the shadow of the vampire Count Nosferatu. After Max Schreck (1922) and Klaus Kinski, the legendary creature is now embodied by Bill Skarsgård (Pennywise in the It films).

Eggers was thrilled with Skarsgård’s performance, telling Empire: “I would say that Bill has changed so much that I’m afraid he won’t get the recognition he deserves, because he’s just not there…”. Bill Skarsgård also wants to do that with his game “honor those who came before him” Nosferatu played.
