Lou Conter is one of the few survivors of the Pearl Harbor attack who is still alive. He was only 20 years old when Japan attacked the American military base.
– The seventh of December is a very big day and the 2,403 soldiers who were killed that day should be recognized above all others. They gave their lives, they gave their all.
His ship USS Arizona exploded and sank. Conter and the other survivors had to fight sharks in the sea to survive. But the 101-year-old does not want to call himself a hero, even though he survived the attack.
– We are not heroes. It is the 2403 men who died who are the heroes.
