100 hours and 45,000 rhinestones – Swiftie Elin in Luleå sews concert clothes to the last detail

22-year-old Elin Johansson has been listening to Taylor Swift for 14 years. Now it is the first time she will experience the artist live. And she has managed to get tickets for all three gigs in Stockholm.

In addition to putting together three outfits for herself, the dog, partner, sister and seven friends have also received replicas of Swift’s stage clothes.

  • Long working days

    – Sometimes there have been 16-hour days of work and I’m still not done, says Elin Johansson.

Just the bodysuit and accompanying jacket, which Elin will wear at the first concert, has taken 60 hours so far. She is up for 40 hours on the accompanying boots, which are to be completely covered in rhinestones.

    – And a couple more to go, she says.

    “Goes empty afterwards”

Elin Johansson is self-taught and started sewing replicas in 2019. Before the concert this weekend, in addition to cutting, dyeing and sewing, she also hand-glued 45,000 rhinestones.

    – It will probably feel a little empty afterwards, not having anything to sit and sew during the day.
