Around a hundred people have been sentenced after this summer’s attack on police stations in Vietnam.
In the attack, which occurred last June in Dak Lak province, nine people were killed. A group of people who came on motorcycles attacked police stations and other government premises.
Ten of the defendants were sentenced to life in prison, while the others were sentenced to between nine months and twenty years in prison, according to the Vietnamese online newspaper Vnexpress. Almost all were convicted of terrorism.
The police stated after the attack that, among other things, 23 firearms, two grenades and ammunition were seized.
The Central Highlands region – where the attack took place – is populated by many different ethnic groups. It is considered a sensitive area for the Vietnamese government.
