It doesn’t take long for the second season of the series adaptation of The Last of Us from HBO. The first episode of the new season will be released on April 13, 2025. With the rest of the waiting time, the anticipation of Meinmmo author Caro also increases in addition to the anticipation. She really liked the first season, but she hopes that important scenes will not lose strength in the second season.
Attention spoiler! This list contains content in the Last of Us, The Last of Us: Part II and the first season of the HBO series.
The Last of Us has been one of the most formative video games for me for many years and is very important to me. It was the first game that I ever played on my first Playstation (which I was definitely old enough for.) I played it together with my father for hours and won the story, the characters and especially Ellie very much. Now the game has accompanied me with my first tattoo at the time.
For this reason, the announcement of an adaptation in the form of a series initially worried that it could ruin my beloved game (for whatever reason).
However, I liked the first season of the series surprisingly well! It was a different but not bad experience and offered me new insights and perspectives of different situations and characters. Bella and Pedro wrapped me around my finger, as well as the sets, the costumes and the effects. They let me experience the world from The Last of Us again, and I am very grateful for that.

Now the second season stands in front of the door, which I am waiting for this time with a little increased expectation and a mix of anticipation and concern (Those who know, know). Already in the first season it became clear that the series as a medium tells history differently than a video game, which I also liked. Less action, a little more drama, more backstory, I agreed.
For this reason, I am excited to see whether some particularly violent moments in the series adaptation can spend the same effect as they did in the game. I am therefore particularly excited about the following moments.
Pretty much at the beginning of the game we see how a whole horde can develop from individual infected people. Abby fights through the snow and the weather, and has to fend off infected people in various places that they want to attack. At first it works quite well, but the situation continues to escalate.
While individual infected people can be mastered quite well, you can do nothing else against a horde than to run away.
In the trailer of the second season you can already see a few short moments of this scene with masses of bodies that approach at high speed. In the first season, HBO was able to prove that the mass volume of the infected people could be really impressive. The actors were even provided with an infected boat camp. Therefore, I am convinced that it will work just as well in the second season.
