In September 2022, Jan Böhmermann denounced German Twitch streamers such as Trymacs or MontanaBlack in his show ZDF Magazin Royale for seducing children and young people into gambling by opening loot boxes in FIFA. A year later, MontanaBlack currently has the world’s largest Twitch stream for EA FC 24. He opens loot boxes. But Trymacs underwent a rethink.
This was the story a year ago:
Trymacs understood criticism – MontanaBlack apparently didn’t
Did the call achieve anything?? The successor to FIFA 22 and FIFA 23 has now been released, the game EA Sports FC 24.
MontanaBlack, who is currently opening loot boxes with Solution, once again has the world’s largest Twitch stream for football games. His criticism of the system was that he complained that women were now included in the loot boxes. This reduces the chance of attracting male players that he wants because he can identify with them.
Trymacs, who has since distanced himself from FIFA, has also announced that he will show the game on Twitch. The 29-year-old has now developed a critical attitude towards loot boxes.
He says he will show the football game, but only modes like Pro Clubs or career mode. He will no longer play the “Ultimate Team” loot box mode. This is a “complete online casino” for children, says Trymacs.
Gambling is at an all-time high on Twitch
What else is gambling like on Twitch? Although Twitch officially banned casino streams from the provider Stake on Twitch in 2022, one year later gambling on Twitch is at a new all-time high.
In the English-speaking Twitch you don’t open packs in FIFA, but loot boxes in CS:GO. An early gaming star like Ninja is so enthusiastic that he even does it at weddings. DrDisrespect is also addicted to opening boxes.
Streamers who previously showed casinos, such as xQc or Trainwreck, are now opening boxes in CS:GO. There, too, it’s about rivets and big winners.
Especially with the simultaneous release of Counter-Strike 2 and E Sports FC, which are only a few days apart, Twitch may once again be at the height of loot boxes and gambling.
