That is 23 percent more than the same period last year – but 32 percent less than the month before. According to SAS, the large loss is due to the roughly two-week strike that took place in July.
The traffic figures were strongly affected by the pilot strike, according to a press release from SAS.
“We would like to sincerely apologize to all our customers who were affected by the strike which resulted in delays and canceled flight departures,” says the company’s president and CEO Anko van der Werff in the press release.
During July, more than 3,700 flights were cancelled, affecting 380,000 passengers.
Capacity increased by around 8 percent, and punctuality was just under 70 percent.
